280ai with 162gr eld-x carnage

Just wanted to show the results of a Hornady ELD-X bullet performance... Elk was 300yds hard quartering away broke 4 ribs shredded liver and destroyed the lungs... Never found the bullet or an exit hole, not sure what happened there...

Overall I'm pleased with its performance...

Ouch! That'll leave a mark!

I've though about trying them in the AI but haven't yet.

Please share what powder you're using and velocity achieved, if you don't mind.

Read quite a few reviews that explained lots of damage. Glad I didn't waste money on them. mtmuley

Yep, I won't be using those eld-x bullets if that's the type of performance. I like to eat the meat. Barnes x bullets are the best bullets i've found for not damaging meat, imo.

That's great it will leave more on the shelf for guys like me to buy... That and I don't much care much for rib meat, liver and lungs for my meals...
