I've heard some rumors, hope it's not true. It's been the only falling block big game single shot available, out side the reproduction Browning high Wall , for a long time. It would be a shame for it to ride off into the sunset.

On the Ruger forum there is reports that the #1 is going to be discontinued by Ruger due to lack of sales. If you want one you better grab it now.

They are a thing of beauty, strong as an ox and very well made. The issue that I have with them (having owned 3) is that they're heavy as a big rock, only hold 1 round of ammo at a time and didn't shoot all that accurately for me.

I'm down to 1 and will likely not rush out and add to the collection even though they might get scarce.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-28-16 AT 11:58PM (MST)[p]...if ruger sold enough of them to be profitable......ruger would not be discontinuing them......

It wouldn't shock me if they discontinued the production. They are a beautiful piece, have one in 375 h&h, but the demand for them just isn't that high. Especially in the calibers currently offered a big solid falling block seems silly.

I saw that as well. It looks like instead they will treat it as an novelty gunof sorts producing a limited run in very specific calibers. Kind of a different approach, but seems cool.
