Would I have a problem if I used a bronze bore brush with Montana Xtreme copper killer? Directions say a nylon brush which I don't have.

Thanks!

It's going to trash your brush but I don't see why it would hurt the barrel.

I just use patches and no brush. I suppose if you had a real mess a brush would be faster.

you will never know when the copper is out of your barrel because the bronze brush will keep your patches blue.

Deadeye is correct and the biggest reason to forgo a bronze brush.

With the wipe out...looks like they make a more traditional solvent or an expanding foam. Seems like the foam would be messy. Is the 'traditional' wipe out solvent as effective as the foam?

The patches work good, if you just follow the directions. I reccomend getting the accelerator also. The combo works great.
The foam isn't too messy if you use a bore guide & keep the nozzle pushed up against it for about 15 secs after you spray the foam. Just don't remove the can from the bore guide right after spraying the foam.
It's the best cleaning system I've found, and I've tried a bunch

Use a phosphor bronze brush and you'll be fine. That with some Butch's then wipeOut and you should be good to go.

I don't even use brushes anymore. Just patches and quality solvent. Had a gunsmith tell me he sees more barrels ruined buy cleaning too much or improperly with brushes than by seeing them shot out.

lol....that is one thing I will never hear from a gunsmith...."you are over cleaning your gun"

I use several different cleaners. Butch's mostly.I do like the Wipe-Out. I do it different than another poster does though. No bore guide. Just plug the chamber at the breech and squirt it in the barrel. mtmuley
