I wonder if anyone has re-barrel one to a 25-06 or similar.

The 25-06 is a much longer round so most rifles currently chambered for the 250 Savage won't handle it.

What's your rifle action and we can help a bit more?

.....are you drinking gator??

Maybe a little,
No marking on the barrel other then Cal. It look like a savage to me,
Still has the original straight clear as a bell 4x scope on it.
I think it was made around 1960

Bolt-rifle? Long action?

If it meets those 2 criteria then, yes, you can rebarrel it to 25-06. My guess would be, NO, however.... unless you load it single-shot and pull the bolt to extract unfired ammo.

Probably a model-99 Savage lever action. Thousands of them made in 250-3000.
First production rifle caliber to reach 3000 fps with a 25 caliber 87gr. bullet if my memory is correct.

Savage 99's are awesome little works of form and function but changing the cartridge to something larger/longer would be impossible....if that's what Gator has.

Bolt action, hidden magazine, no marking on barrel other then the Caliber.

take a look at the 257 Roberts and see if it will work. It is a lot closer to your 250-3000 in overall length.

Have you considered the 22-250? It's the same parent cartridge. You don't know the make on the rifle? It might not be worth the cost of rebarreling.

No maker marking on it, seem to look like a savage when comparing the pictures of them.
