Summer pastimes

Anyone else use the summer to squeeze in some shooting and load development?

I try to avoid the really hot days, but I find I sometimes have to make use of whatever time I can get.

One of the most enjoyable things to burn some time on in my opinion.

What you guys shooting this year?

I have a 40 yard pistol range at the back of my home in the foothills. Yesterday I was able to shoot about 50 rounds with my colt 1911 defender and my S&W 9mm shield.
I had just installed night sights on both guns and fired them to make sure the sights were dead on at 15 yards as these two are my everyday concealed carry guns.
More fun shooting them then it is cleaning them after a range day.

I'm betting it is more fun shooting them than carrying them too.

I've always liked shooting spinners with hand guns.

I do not have any spinners, but I do have 5 steel targets that I use for fast action drills.

I usually settle on what guns I'll be using both primary and backup for each hunt about June and try to get in as much range time as I can with each of those guns. Today I went to the range with my white super91II 410 caliber, my super 91 .451 caliber, my 338/378 weatherby, and 300 weatherby the whites and 300 were put on paper at 50 100 125 and 422 yards. The 338 started out at 422 and stretched out to 900. Everything seemed good but I'll practice some more next weekend. I want to stretch the 338 out some more before november.

In my neck of the woods it's super tuff finding a good spot to shoot past 500yrds. and unfortunately that is what my practice sessions really need more of.
I probably won't shoot any rifle other than my proven standard 300 Win. Mag.
I have a few rifles to use but it's unlikely I'll use anything else this fall.
