Looking to put a new scope on my 6.5 does anyone have any input on the Zeiss 3X Terra I am looking at the 4-12x42mm with the RZ 8 reticle

I can't speak for the RZ 8 reticle but I have that scope with the plex reticle on a 22 mag. I bought it from cameraland as a demo. I like it. For the lower end Zeiss models, it's a great scope.

appreciate the input I have a couple of the Weaver Kaspa scopes they are crystal clear scopes & around $170 I can get this Zeiss for around $270 . From the comments I have seen on different sights I am not sure its worth the extra $$

Sorry for dropping in this way, I'm in the market for 6.5 Creedmoor lately I've been doing some research on this caliber. Narrowed it down to Savage, American Ruger, etc due to some budget.
Can anyone shine some light in this caliber, pros-cons etc. thanks in advance

Got a 6.5 for both my boys. Love the caliber. My oldest just dropped a cow at 400 with it. Not much kick and does the job. I would stay away from the Ruger American though. My oldest had it hang fire twice on him including last years elk hunt. End up getting him a Browning Micro Midas and I couldn't be happier. Best shooting rifle I have ever shot. Beats my rifle hands down. I got rid of the Ruger by the way.

Elk, I just bought the Savage 11/111 in 6.5 Creedmoor. I love the gun! Good price, lightweight, shoots really well, pair it with a good scope and you can't go wrong.

There is a gang of good shooting production rifles on the market and the 6.5 Crede is a great cartridge as it has proven since it appeared in I believe 2008.
Take a look at the Bergara B14 Hunter. For about $700 it is a steal.
Also don't overlook the Howa 1500 "Lighting" from Legacy sports for under $500. It is another outstanding rifle.
The Savage Axis II is also a winner for about $400.
As for the Ruger American, I have shot a number of them and they have all been shooters producing sub inch groups once the load they preferred was discovered.
I did have a magazine issue with one in 30-06. I called Ruger and they had a new one to me in three days. They don't look or feel like much but the American will put the lead where you want it if you do your part. Dollar for dollar I don't believe that there is a rifle on the market that can come close to the American line.
Teamed up with the 6.5 you have a package that is great for everything from song dogs to elk. JMHO
