Here is a ? I bought a Savage model 16 light weight hunter in 6.5 Creedmore. Bought 3 boxes of shells 129 Hornady 130 Prime & 143 Hornady . Out to the range 25 yard dial in ,3rd shoot I noticed it was a little tough throwing the bolt back. Got dialed dead nuts at 25 5 shots, moved to 100 after every shot Now the bolt was getting harder & harder to throw & extract the cases !! I took the gun home put a dab of oil on the grooves & lugs , went back shot 1 round same story I noticed brass shavings in the chamber & some metal fragments on the bolt . Called Savage & sent the rifle back .. Anyone else run into this issue with this rifle ??

No I have not
But I was looking at that same rifle my self
Just wondering if you got it resolved
And if you are satisfied ?
Thanks

May be an extractor issue. Empty shell could be tilted upward too far as it is extracted from the chamber. Might be why you are seeing brass shavings. Most likely an easy fix.

Just an update sent the rifle back to Savage they claim the back screw on the front scope base was screwed in too far ?? The guy that mounted the scope has put many on for me over the years & I have Never had this issue .We asked a well known gunsmith what he thought he said IF the screw was hanging down that far the bolt would not close !! Savage said they polished the bolt & the chamber & replace the safety ?? Not sure why or what the safety had too do with this issue . I took the gun back to the same gun smith & he mounted the scope { Note } Savage's gunsmith had the front base on backwards !! Went out to the range this past weekend seems fine I only put 12 rounds through the gun but chambered & cycled OK !!
