Good morning, I have a friend who is having trouble finding a load with his new 28 Nosler. He ask me for advise, but I have no experience with caliber. He has tried the 175 Nosler ABLR bullet with H-1000 with Nosler brass. Isn?t having much success. He wants to stick that bullet does anyone have any other options? He would also like to know if anyone knows what kind of powder Nosler use in the factory loads for the 175 ABLR? Thanks, Roughneck.

The 175 ABLR can be a very picky bullet. Have him try some retumbo or RL33. If either of those don't work try a different bullet.

It is common to have issues with the long range accubonds. They are really tough to find a good load for. I've tried them in three different calibers in three different custom built rifles. The 28 Nos is begging to push those bigger bullets. I'm pushing a 195 Berger at 3150 FPS which if you run the ballistics, it's almost identical in energy to a .338 lapua at 1000 yards and shooting flatter. I'm using retumbo. These are two different groups at 300 YARDS. The top group is a five shot group!

Thanks, from what I keep reading on that 28 Nosler the 195gr Berger is a really good option. Those are really good groups. I love how fast that big bullets moving! I hope he takes the advise and switch?s bullet! I didn't like that ABLR .
