Matthews bows

So I shot a Matthews (Z7 extreme)for the first time the other day and I was blown away by the smoothness of the draw and the complete lack of hand shock on release. I'm used to my old Martin which feels like a toy in comparison. For you Matthews aficionados, are all their bows this sweet or is the z7 exceptionally sweet? What is your favorite Matthews and why? Or what bow do you think trumps Matthews?

I shoot a Diamond Outlaw, and I have pulled a few arrows with the Mathews Heli-M bow and what a world of difference. Try this Mathews bow it is very light and comfortable, It balances so well and draws back & releases with ease.

I shoot the Mathews Z7 Extreme and it's probably the best shooting bow I've ever owned. For me the only other bow that came close was the Mathews Switchback XT. There's a lot of other bows out there but it mainly comes down to what your most comfortable with and what shoots best for you.

I spent significant time shooting the new Mathews Creed, Helium, and Chill. Here's my take: the Chill was by far smoothest shooting bow....no question. It had the least amount of hand shock of any of these three bows. But I did not like the draw cycle of the Chill or the Valley at the end of the draw cycle. I also dont like that it's a dual cam system. The Helium is a lighter bow by 1/2 pound, but I felt it had a lot of hand shock upon release. It also had a very short back-wall on it's draw cycle. In other words, when at full draw I felt like I might get pulled out of it at any moment. The Creed is the one I liked the best and ended up purchasing. I thought it was smoother upon release than the Helium (not as much hand shock/vibration). The draw cycle was fairly smooth....although a little tough to roll over......but I liked the back wall of the draw cycle. I didn't feel as though i might accidentally get ripped out of the pocket. It was a bit more comfortable sitting in the back wall of the draw-cycle....if that makes sense. When shooting, it was not as smooth as the Chill, but it was smoother than the Helium. Also, I like the fact that it's a solo cam and the Chill is a dual-cam system. Solocams are traditionally Easier to keep tuned......no timing issues. All in all, my decision to get the Creed came down to it was a pretty smooth shooting bow with little hand shock, I liked the back wall of the draw cycle being a bit more forgiving and I like the SoloCam system. Hope this helps. Kip

I shoot the switchbackXT and love it. I've owned several other bows and none shoot and feel like this bow.

+1 on the XT a bow truely before its time...smoth draw, perfect balance and heavy enough bow to have no vibration at release. You don't even need a stableizer with the XT. We shoot using a 6" Fuse just because...

Just my take:

That Z7 is one sweet bow and you'll never go wrong with forking out the cash for that piece of machinery.

I was contemplating buying a new bow last summer, and I shot these bows:

1. Z7
2. Helium
3. Elite Answer
4. Hoyt Carbon

I spent about three hours shooting and drawing and deliberating and I came down to a tie for first: the Helium and the Elite Answer are the bows that shot the best for me.

The Elite Answer was incredible. Steady, rock wall, easy draw cycle, dead in the hand, and I robin hooded two arrows (more likely luck than anything).

Just an FYI, I didn't end up buying any bow. Still shooting the Hoyt Vectrix....its just getting broken in :)
