Peep Sight - Magnified or how to correct Blurred Pins

Guys, I was looking for a solution to a dilema that I'm having with my new bow setup. I used to shoot fingers and one pin. I recently purchased a new Mathews Creed and now shoot with a release with a sight that has many pins. The pins are so close together that they are blurred looking through the peep but the target is clear. I do where glasses while shooting and readers for reading. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Did you go to a magnified peep sight? or is there another solution? I could go back to one sight pin again but the reason I went to the new setup was in my buddies words, what I was using was like using a 30-30 to hunt elk and my new setup is like using my 300 Weatherby. I shoot pretty good with the my current setup even with the blurred pins but was looking for possible solution that would give a good clear view of the sight pins while also having a good clear view of the target.

I would appreciate any help with this. I know this is probably a pretty common problem for a 55 year old and would like to here what others do.

Thanks, in advance for your comments.

Dave: I shoot a 5 pin Flashpoint and no blurrrrr issues and my eyes are bad enough for some fairly strong reading glasses. How many pins do you have on your new sight? If you have a 7pin that is a big change and will take some getting used too. I like a 5 pin for hunting for me a 7 pin just has to much going on when drawing on game.

One thing you may want to consider would be to take a few pins off your new sight and go down to a 5 pin where you can get some space in between pins and sight at 20, 30, 40, 50, 60.

Also I didn't know they made peeps with eye glass style lenses. What does that do out to game yardage? If you see the pins with that type of peep does that blurr the game at longer yardages?

Good Luck

Look into a verifier from Specialty Archery Products. The peep housing is threaded and you can screw in whatever strength lens works for you. 4 is the weakest...9 is the strongest. Find a shop that has the verifier display to see what strength you need.

+1 to that a verifier will solve the issue. Make sure you get a verifier not a clarifier because clarifiers are made to be used with a lens in the sight. But a verifier should fix you up good.

Thanks, for the info everyone. I will check into that verifier. It sounds like just what I need.

Take Care,
