I am looking for the what everyone opinion on the best archery rangefinder is? I am stictly looking for under 300 yards with angle comp to 100. I have a good long range range finder already that will do angle from 35 out ( EL Range bino's), just looking for a small hand held one that will do close.

Vortex Ranger is the best one I have owned. Sharp, clear red led read out, simple "shoot as" distance diplay, compact and lifetime warranty. It will do longer yardages that you plan on but once you own one, there is no need for any other.

I also have the Vortex Ranger 1000 and like it alot. The only thing i dont like is how long it takes to give back the reading. Which is honestly only about a second but it seems like forever in the heat of the moment.

+1 on the Leupold we have three and never had any issues. Put them through every condition and beat them up big time...They keep on work'n perfectly every time :)

I use a Nikon. Reads through brush etc very well and is cheap. I have el range that I love, and I will take in open country bow hunting, but if I'm gonna be crawling around I would rather drag my less expensive nikon through the mud. With that said, neither one compensates enough. Example, 70 yard caribou steep hill, nikon said 58, spined the animal and dropped it, after guides Leica Also said to shoot 58 but actually shooting 43 yards was the correct aim point.

Bushnell range finder works great and cabelas has good deals on them sometimes.

I have the Vortex, I think its pretty good. But I was checking the range on my target and it would read 30 yds and 34 yds on the same target with out me moving. My older Bushnell reads 30 yrds. Not sure what is causing it to read different.
