I have a chance to pick up a hoyt carbon element. I know all have opinions but looking to hear from those that have shot or own one. I currently shoot a hoyt ultratec and am looking to upgrade. The guy is asking 560 for it. Just wondering is that a good deal. Any advice or comments appreciated.

Thanks

That is a good price for a CE. One thing to take a look at is the year, in 11 they had the Fuel cams and in 12 they switched over to the RKT cams and the RKT are a lot better. Either way that is a good deal.

Just got my 2nd Carbon Element I've owned today actually. The first was a 2011 with Fuel cams. Now, 2013 G3 Bone Collector. If the bow is in good dondition I would buy it myself for 560..00!!! Great price as long as its not beat up real bad. Also, what year is it? Fuel cams or RKT cams on the bow? Either way good deal.,,

FRD4LFE asked the samething I did and I didnt notice his post sorry. However, he is correct. Slso, if you get it and you wanted to upgrade to RKT's just need new string and cable set and the RKT Cams. Hoyt will tell you not to do it because it changes limb deflection , but lots of people on Archery Talk have done it. Actually kind of tuff to find any used RKT Cams on there anymore...

Good deal either way but the RKT cams are very different than what you have been shooting. I have a Hoyt Cybertec and Ultratc with the older cam 1/2. I also have a 2012 Vector 32 with the RKT cams. The RKT are faster and the bow is more accurate but I have had a lot of trouble getting used to the new draw cycle. That being said my biggest problem is the 32" ATA. Big drop from you 38" Ultratec. Its a deal but make sure it fits.

I know right? That is a good deal on that bow. I have seen three others pretty cheap as well. One was 450.00, but sold in like an hour, the other was 525.00, sold and one for 600.00 sold. There on AT all the time for 650-800, but 90% sold in my opinion sell for around that 700.00 mark! So I would get the bow to resell it if nothing else...

I shot a 2004 ultratec till I purchased a 2012 CE. Love it. I actually enjoyed how getting a new bow encouraged me to shoot so much more that I sold it and bought a 2013 CE. I enjoy everything about the CE more. The only thing that took some getting used to is the axle length. I would probably prefer a longer ATA but I enjoyed it so much, so smooth, no vibration, light etc. that I purchased the same bow this year. I shot two arrows out of my 2012 CE, one harvested a 36" dall sheep at 45 yards and the other a mountain caribou in velvet at 70 yards. With that said, the ultratec treated me well, with a 382 bull being the largest of it's animals. Only 4 months till my next adventure!
