So I am thinking about joining Datus. It would be for just me and sometimes my wife (once I get her a bow) but I have a few questions for anyone that has shot there:

-Can I access it whenever I want once I have paid my dues?
-What is it like on the inside? Is it usually pretty busy or are there always shooting lanes open?
-Is it worth the price of a membership?

And any info you can give me about it that will sway me one way or another.

Thanks!

I am interested as well.
Also, any info on the clientele would be helpful. i.e. is it full of tech junkies, hard core target archers, mainly bowhunting focused, etc.

Thanks

Tuesday night is a vegas 450 round. Not sure about openings

Monday night is 5 spot lots of good guys shooting and has a few openings.

Wendsay night is a vegas 450 round. Has adult and kids mixed. There are quite a few good shooters that shoot this league including 2 archers on the USA compound team. The Kids shooting this league can hang with the adults in score. There are about 35 shooters shooting this league and we can handle up to 48 so there is still room. The league will be ending at the end of February. They started in November. Its not a problem though! I shoot and run this league so if you want to come down ill fit you in.

Thursday night is vegas 300 round. I haven't been there on Thursday so im not sure what goes on.

Friday night is Joad night. Kids only! There are about 40-60 kids shooting this league every friday and they shoot year round. I dare say some of the best kid archers in Utah shoot here! Datus always puts out kids that rank in the top 3 in National shoots. I also help coach and run this League. So bring your kids down!!

Saturday and Sunday are open to who ever wants to shoot if the club isnt rented out.

With a membership you can access the club year round 24/7. You get one free league with your membership. During the winter months there are quite a few people shooting at all times of the day. Always lanes open!!!! Always room to shoot!!! You can shoot outside to 80 or so yards. If know one is in the building you can shoot out to 40 yards indoors. We have two bow presses so you can tune your equipment if you want. If you don't know what your doing there is usually someone there that does know what there doing that can help you out.

Datus is a nice place to shoot indoors and has a lot of high level target archers that also hunt as members. Right now it has the best indoor range in Utah! The new Easton facility that is coming this year will be better but im not sure the cost of membership. I bet its $$Hefty$$ because you will be able to shoot indoors out to 70 meters and out doors to 120 meters. I doubt the new Easton facility will allow you 24/7 access.

who farted?

Also there is an outdoor range that you can shoot out to 85 yards. No broadheads, but you can definitely use it for setting marks and tuning for most any hunting or target situation.

I've been a member since 2001 or so and regardless of your style of shooting you'll be able to find a group of like minded shooters hang with.

Cheers,
Pete

SW thank you! That clip was awesome, just what I wanted to see to get a feel for how the range looks. Looks like the wife and I will be joining next month most likely. Just need to figure out what league I want to try and shoot!

Datus is Awesome, I don't get to shoot as much as I like (my choice) but for the price having a 24/7 shooting range at your leisure is worth it.
