So what is the purpose of a arrow squaring tool and when would I be using it? I know this is kind of a stupid question but thanks for the input thanks guys.

I am also interested in the answer to your post. Never heard of an arrow squaring tool. Maybe would it be used working with wooden arrows installing nocks or tips? I don't see any use for a tool like that with carbon or aluminum arrows. If they are not straight they won't fly straight so I'd be throwing that arrow away:)

The purpose is to square the end of the arrow where the inserts or broadhesd butts into the shaft. Just aligning everything perfect. May not be necessary but certainly doesn't hurt

It sometimes is useful to square the knock end as well.

An accurately built arrow WILL allow you to be more accurate/consistent in your shots.
