Matthews MQ1

Got a fully equipped Matthews MQ1, for $140. I have read some reviews stating its a quality bow. Has anyone had experience with this model? I know its not a new $1000 blow your smokes off bow, but thats not what I want, I am looking for a good quality starter bow. How do you guys think I did?

I'd say you did pretty good, especially if you got extras like a good rest,stabilizer, and sight and maybe a good release. That's what I got when I bought my MQ1 in 04. Shot this bow till I bought a DXT in 09. Still shoot it as a backup. In fact I had to use it last year for my cow hunt when after shoulder surgery I couldn't use the DXT. The MQ1 is more forgiving as it has a higher riser and longer axle to axle length.
Things have come a long way since the MQ1 but that thing will still get her done for sure.

Don't chase advanced tech just to be buying the newest bow out there when what you bought can still make your day.

That's what I was thinking, and I knew Mathews is a good brand so I figured I would gable a little with the hunts coming up quick and me being bow less until now.
