A off the wall subject now that application season winds down and we get ready to hunt...I like my Sitka Gear and like to mix and match to break it up even more! Forest over OpenCountry...

my opinion best camo pattern on the market is the Sitka Opti fade open country. I have called bulls & yotes in under 5 yards & them have no idea I was even there until I moved even in open terrain !! just wish their stuff wasnt so much $$ !!

just wish
>their stuff wasnt so much
>$$ !!

Ah this is where the end of season sales, Ebay and AT Classifieds come in...I may have paid retail for one or two items that I own and I have a bunch...lol

Digg's, CamoFire and a few others have great deals from time to time...

LAST EDITED ON Jun-04-14 AT 05:32PM (MST)[p]I believe Predator (spring green or brown) is the best pattern ever developed..........just wish it was offered in Kuiu or C4E. So for now, my Vias and Mothwing work okay.

Right on !!! I have not bought any camo clothes in any sporting goods stores for over 4 years !! why pay $250 at Cabelas or Sportsmans for Sitka 90% pants when u can get the same stuff on Camofire or Ebay for less than 1/2 price or less !! have never heard of AT will have to check them out

In all seriousness the photo you put up makes you look like a big grey human. You stand out! It doesn't even come close to breaking you up.

Now throw on some predator green in that same position and you will disappear.

So best breakup human outline is predator. Predator however falls short in fit and comfort. Sitka fits good but with everything made out of polyester blends its absolutely sucks balls at containing your scent or making your scent signature smaller. In fact it makes it worse! Throw in the cost of the crap and at half off its still to expensive

This is where wool blends come in. First lite wool in asat is hard to beat.

Lol...Always one! Funny, but I've used it (Sitka) for years now and never been winded or seen by Deer that have caught a arrow, some within feet...Probably because I use the wind to my advantage, always...

It Predator were to go to something better, I'd be there in a heartbeat...KUIU is a good one also, don't like their fit...To each is own~

You know camo to animals looks different than to the humans eye. I have spent my share on quality camo patterns for different terrains. Mossy Oak for dark timber and for the early season grassy oak tree back drops in CA. The new Cabela's Zones Woodlands is as good as it gets in a camo pattern that blends in with the terrain.

Funny thing is that the game just doesn't see it that way. The object of camo is to break the human outline. Most all camo no matter the price does the job as far as the game so concerned. What gets humans busted is usually movement and sound....not the camo pattern. I say this from experience...and first hand at that.

Last year archery season I watched this guy through bino's stalk a quality buck for an hour. No only did this guy get close to the buck he jumped it twice. The buck ran around the side of the hill hung up in the oaks and stayed put. The Hunter not knowing where the buck was came around the side hill and found the big buck looking at him at 40 yds....just frozen and staring at him....this guy the Hunter had the most god awful camo on ever to me by human eyes ....he was wearing waterfowl grassy style stuff that to me did no fit anything in sight. Well the deer saw different.....and if I didn't see it with my own eyes I would never have believed it myself. Movement and scent busts hunters more than what camo pattern they are wearing....I wish I could have vidio'd that stalk we were watching and how this guy stood out in his terrain...yet the buck did not bolt because the Hunter being experienced used his camo well by moving so very slowly he never spooked the buck. The buck knew something was different and was there but could not figure out the threat ....and again this guy was wearing crap in my book but he got the job done with what he was wearing....I would never have believed it if I hadn't see it with my own eyes....camo is camo to animals and it breaks up the human outline pattern wether it is cheep or expensive....gear .....camo quality and price is geared to the human eye because the game just don't care how much we payed or blended in by the human eye.
It's moving slow and technique in using your camo that gets the job done.
