Arrow wraps

I'm new to the world of archery. I just bought a dozen arrows and had them fletched at my local bowshop. Now, I am wishing I would've gone with a wrap too. They look cool and I think it would help me in finding them after the shot. Is it too late without refletching? I thought about applying some in front of the fletchings?Or will that effect the dynamics of the arrow?

Dude if it were me I would leave those arrows alone and do wraps on your next dozen if your set on wraps. Personally I don't like wraps and no one that refletches arrows does either. When your ready to refletch and arrow that is wrapped it is difficult to do without tearing or destroying the wrap during the glue cleaning process. Then that arrow looks like junk. Now you could just purchase the wraps with vanes already built into the wrap and refletch and arrow by that method but with time manufactures change color and artistry so it always works out for the manufactures and not the archers if you know what I mean.

If you want to see your arrow better in the field I suggest going to some colorful vanes and fore go the wraps. I had to pick up a couple dozen Easton ION 600 carbon hunting arrows for my Grandson...yeh they came with colorful wraps in blue. At our archery range last week he damaged a vane and tore the wrap. The wrap was damaged to much from the target bail metal binding that the only way they could refletch the arrow was to totally remove the wrap and refletch the arrow plain shaft.....so now the arrow does not match the set....get the picture?

Good luck in your choice. Happy hunt'n :)

You make a good point. I did go with neon red fletchings with one white. I think they'll be bright enough in aiding my bad eyes, thanks TrophyHunter

Ok i'm just opposite I wont shoot without them. when it comes time to refletch you just peel off the old wrap with the fletching and wipe down with rubbing alcohol. I have found it a pain to strip the old glue off of carbon shafts with out damaging the finish.

I've had both. Yes, damaging a vane ruins essentially that arrow for shooting in regards to the aesthetics. So I just set that one aside. Every year I'll re-fletch at the beginning anyway with new arrows I buy or just for a change.
But as you get into archery more, probably like any sport, you like to customize your stuff more and more. I really like having my unique setup.
Here's a pic of the new ones for this year.

I agree. I use wraps because it makes refletching so much easier

Well guys I got to tell you " I love your arrows" they are cool looking...
We use our arrows for one thing ....killing game so I guess that's why we do what we do and you guys do what you do. We don't damage many arrows shooting broadheads because we spot shoot targets. Our group has 500 arrows and I have not had to replace/ refletch 6 Arrows in the last 5 years and we shoot a bunch in the off season. FMJ's are expensive so we do our best to not mess them up. :)

Thanks for showing those arrows...SO Cool.
