I am thinking of going with the Montana Black Gold Ascent, what is your guys opinion on that sight? Do any of you think there is a better option for the money? Basically, I want a sight with micro adjustments and that is capable of reaching out further distances. Thanks guys!

I have a 3pin model, my stepson has a single pin model we both love them . Very bright pins . I upgraded from a CBE that I had nothing but problems with it . Glad to be rid of it . I believe they are the best sight out there

IMO, one of the best sights out there.....and absolutely the best warranty.

+5 from our group. Brightest pins on the market in low light conditions. Their fiber optic technology is so bright you could shoot when it is to dark to see your game through the peep. See the pin, game with the eye but not through the peep. Plus their adjusting technology keeps the pins the same brightness in all light conditions. Those guys back up their products no questions asked. Originally purchased the 5 pin we just upgraded and custom added a 6th pin to dial things in to 70yds.
Which ever style sight you purchase from BlackGold......
Shoot that sight and you will never want to purchase another sight in your lifetime. :)

Just bought the three pin Ascent for my Elite 35. Took it in to have my arrows weighed and chronographed, printed the tape, glued it to my sight, and it has really helped my long range practice. 80 to 100 yards is actually fun to shoot now. The bubble is delicate and tells you what you need to know.

The three pin, in my opinion, is where its at. I keep the top pin fixed at 20, so the second and third fall into 30 and 40. That covers most of my close range shots. Then, if I need to adjust for a longer shot, I can do that (and will likely be able to get away with the movement since the game will be further out).

I agree with everyone above. Love the sight.
I've got from a generic TruGlo on my beginner bow, to a fixed Hoyt sight, to a Sureloc single pin slider, to a CBE Tek Hybrid 3-ping, to the BG ascent 3 pin, and have the new Pure BG sight. The BG's are awesome.
In the extreme cold last year on the extended archery hunt, had 5 bulls broadside at 73 yards, went to slide my CBE Tek to the distance, and the knob turned, but the sight housing didn't stay the same. Couldn't adjust it, cost me a shot. I was not a happy camper. The CBE was on it's way back to the manufacturer that week and a new BG on it's way. Best decision.

While we're on the topic, I also like the 3 pin for the same reason as mentioned above. Love it being fixed for 40 and under, and sliding beyond that. I also like the dovetail option. Had the 4" on the Ascent and have the 6" on the Pure now.

For the love of the game

Thanks for all the feedback guys! I definitely am going to go with that sight, I just cannot decide if I want to go with a 3 pin or 5 pin. I am just gonna have to think about it. Thanks again!

I have the 5 pin and it was the best thing I ever did.

I have my pins set from 20-60 yards and then I use my bottom pin from 62-140 LOL

Love this site and would recomend it to anyone.

I have the 5 pin. Set at 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60. I can then move the site and use the 60 pin out to 150 yards. They are awesome.

I've had mine for 3 years and love it. I took a pretty bad spill last season with it and broke a couple little things on it called BG and they sent me replacement parts free of charge.

Black Gold has a new line of sights called the Pure 75. I just put a Pure 75 Gold on my new set up and I really like this sight. Same concept as the Ascent but with micro adjustable bullet-proof pins, a lighter/stronger 7075 aluminum alloy, 3rd axis adjustability, lifetime warranty, and a "dry" vertical all-metal drive system that requires no lube/maintenance.

This sight is not cheap @ close to $400 retail but worth the money, in my opinion.

For this season we contacted BlackGold and had them send us another pin so we could install it on our 5 pin sight. BlackGold walked me through installing the extra pin so now we have custom 6 pin sights. We removed the bubble level to get more adjustment room. Now were set up 20-70 yds. Hunting early season Blacktail in open country that 70yd pin helps a bunch.

Have enjoyed this sight for three years and is the best sight I've owned to date for all the aforementioned reasons. Have the three pin model set to 25, 40 and 50 yards, then dialed every ten to 100yrds.

Can't see changing sights; maybe bow someday.....

So how many of you Ascent Users have the 3rd axis on your sight and how many of you use it? I bought one without the 3rd axis for a pretty good deal and am now wondering if I should return it and pay for an upgrade for the model that does.
