Muzzy Broadheads. What Do You Think?

I've killed a few whitetail deer with Muzzy broadheads, but never an elk. Most recently I've used the MX-3 style. As far as fixed blade broadheads go how do they stack up? Give me some opinions and maybe some experiences. I want the good and the bad!

that is all I shoot we have killed many bulls between 12 & 40 yards with 100 grain muzzy broad heads all but 2 were complete pass thrus & those hit shoulders have not had a busted blade yet !!

My first broadheads were the Muzzy 4 blades. Hated them! They flew like knuckle balls. Now granted, I was novice to archery at the time, so there could have and probably was a number of things wrong between my form and my low-end bow's tuning. But having said that, I'd switched to G5 Montecs and didn't have any issues without doing nothing different besides putting the different heads on.

If I were to shoot them again, I'd go with the new Trocars or the 4 blades. But they're still down on my list for available fixed blades.

For the love of the game

Same here. They were my first broadhead and I killed a lot of critters with them, but they do not provide the best flight. You have to be real careful with assembly. I switched a while back to the Montec and never looked back. As far as performance goes the elk I have shot with both didn't really have preference! They all died the same.

I have used both muzzy 3 blade and 4 blade 100gr heads . I have take many elk using them almost every one was a complete pass through . like the others have said they don't fly like a field tip . make sure to sight them in on a target before taking them into the field .

My MX 3 fly just like my field tips at any distance. They are my favorite Broadhead. They just seemed to work well for me and the way I tune my bow.

I saw a guy bounce one off a 2 point deers shoulder a few years ago. Seriously though, if you are gonna shoot a 3 blade broadhead, shoot a solid vpa and don't look back.
