Bow sling

Any one use bow slings ? I'm talking about the kind that hook over the cams and you carry your bow with a strap over your shoulder so your hands are free to glass? Any recommendations

Yeh we tried one of those straps out a few years back. Didn't work out well for us. 1) something else to carry in our backpack. 2) we glass with one hand or put the bow down. 3) biggest issue was with that strap attached the bow was not shot ready to shoot. If you spot something or happen across game. The bow was in that sling taking more steps and movement to get the bow ready to shoot. I guess we could make it work walking in and out in the dark but for us it just wasn't worth the hassle. Our slings are buried in some drawer somewhere....just more money spent on toys/ gear that was useless IMO. Easier to carry a bow by the string when we get tired or strap it to our packs when we know there will be no shot.

I'm going to give this sling a try this year as I can think of a handful of instances where having a sling would be helpful. The thing I like about this sling is that it can be quickly (and silently) removed and I bet you could probably practice with it and take shots with it still attached. I haven't actually messed with it yet, but it looks very promising. If anyone else has used one I'd be interested in their experience with it, as I will be buying one shortly.

You didn't say what you were hunting but it doesn't really matter I've got 2 or 3 different one for different bows but I think it's that you use it once or twice and didn't fit just right not like a gun sling so you got to keep using it to get the feel work out the kinks and you'll grow to like it I've been on horse hunts quads ect and I won't put my bow or gun in those rubber things on the quad and don't like the horse scabbard so don't give up you bought it might as well use it.

I have a Primos sling works great but to be honest it rides in my pack more than its on the bow !! they are great when u are in real steep or rocky terrain & need both hands to keep your Azz upright !! I also bought a bow holder from Sportsmans just a piece of molded plastic that fits on your belt or pack hip belt I use it more than the sling when I am glassing instead of laying my bow in the dirt snow or rocks it was like 8 BUCKS !!!
