Squirrels while calling elk?

Hello MM guys. Most everyone has had it happen. The perfect setup for calling in a bull and the local squirrel decides he doesn't like you in his part of the woods.

Does this big mouth have any impact on your success?
Any advice on dealing with the forrest trespassing police?

Although they could I don't think squirrels barking normally spook other game. That's just part of normal forest noises. Squirrels bark at each other, birds and other wildlife and don't just bark at humans.

I know whitetails usually don't pay much attention to them.

I tend to think those dirty little bastards send out the alarm and scare animals away but like WVH.. said they do it all the time. I don't think I have ever had them warn off elk or deer.

I have had squirrels actually climb up my pants leg while sitting over a wallo. Scent Lok works...dirty little bastards ...thought they would go up inside my pants leg

.. Had to move just to scare these road ants

off. Never effected our hunts.....though.

I have wondered this very same thing in the past but over the years I personally have never felt that those little buggers, annoying as they are, have had any influence on the other animals around. I have lost a few arrows trying to encourage them to be quiet.

in the timber in idaho the squirrels are the masters of the forest. I cant tell you how many times ive been rattling for deer and hear a squirrel in the distance and walk over there and spook a buck from right underneath a the squirrel. You would think i would learn my lesson and quit walking over there
