LAST EDITED ON Apr-29-15 AT 02:03PM (MST)[p]Thinking about getting this bow. I have a Mathews solo cam MQ1 that has a 60% let off and is maxed out at 55 lbs. I had surgery on both shoulders last year, and I have degenerative disc disease in some thoracic vertebrae. The 80% let off and lighter bow would be better for me shooting and holding my draw for 30 seconds. I don't bow hunt a lot or shoot a lot, so the top end bows cost a lot for how often I bow hunt. I drew a good elk tag and I'm shooting 4-5 times a week practicing. I have shot 8 elk and a bear years ago. Just not been bow hunting much the past 12 years. Any thought and advise? Thanks.

I have a bowtech prodigy now the bow shoots great, the power shift will give you good options with your shoulder issues. With a 60 pound bow set on the #3 setting you should have little issues with this bow. The only issue I had with my prodigy was with the rest I could not get it to tune with a QAD ultra rest changed it out with a trophy taker problem solved. Go shoot it and decide I would also recommend looking at xpedidition archery very similar to the bowtech but lower price.

LAST EDITED ON May-02-15 AT 03:53PM (MST)[p]The Icon turned out to be the nicest bow I've shot this year. At 30.5 draw I wasn't expecting much when I shot it, more of something to do while I waited for other things when I was at the shop, I was surprised at how nice the draw is at 72# and how well it held, with little to no vibe, the grip is not what I like nessesarily, but I could live with it. Heck of a nice hunting bow at a reasonable price in todays market. Shot most of the other high end bows from other companies, while some were nice, I wouldn't pay what they want for them. I have a D340 and an Experience, but will probably add one of these to pack around the mountain this year.

Thanks for the info. I shot one and liked it at 20 yards. I have a little time to make my decision. I have studied reviews also, just wanted to get others opinions. Thanks.

I bought the Icon. Very pleased with this bow. Shooting 65 lbs on the smooth cycle. 3-4 inch groups at 60 yards. A fun bow.

I have a 60 lbs lh Carbon Knight and find that it shoots really well. It is dead as can be and still zips the arrows out there very reasonably.

I'd go give the Icon a try at it's lowest poundage setting and see if it suits you with the smooth draw module in place. They are super light and just about the perfect bow for my 'oldmanitis' :)

Cheers,
Pete
