Well, I'm pretty sure I've posted bout this before, but it's been awhile. I'm in the market for a new bow. My current bow is an old PSE Diablo. It's done me well, killed it's share of critters, I'd just like to upgrade as mine is about 10 years old.

I'm open to suggestions, I am partial to PSE, I just really like the grip, but I'm aware that they aren't the only bow company out there.

I want smoothe draw, solid wall, easy tune, deadly accurate, etc.......I'm not too worried about speed, as most bows shoot over 300 fps. I would like a slider sight so that I can shoot 100-120 yards. Not for hunting mind you, just to make the 30-40 yard shots alot easier.

Also, arrows. Been shooting Radial X-weaves. Should I go with FMJ? Gold tip? How's this new quiver that trophy taker makes that acts as the dampener? Basically, I'm way behind on all the new technology that has come out, and am looking for a whole new package. Also, is it possible to stay under $1200?

Bow - Both Mathews and Hoyt are really nice bows in my opinion. I have a Mathews Z7 now, but I have been giving the Hoyt Spyder a hard look for next year.

Sight - I have been shooting a slider for a few years now. I absolutely LOVE a slider. Way better for me than a fixed pin sight. I go with a single pin. Had been shooting a Sure-Loc Sprotsman Special for a few years, but recently switched to a Spot Hogg Hogg Father. The Hogg Father is twice the sight. Absolutely love it. Hands down the best sight I have ever shot. If by chance you want to buy one get it via Ebay. If you order one it will take 3 to 4 weeks to get since they don't stock them and only build to spec. I got mine via ebay new in the box for $20 less than anywhere else I could find it and it came with a sight light.

Arrows - I have shot Gold Tip, Carbon Express Maxima Reds, and now Easton FMJ. I just picked up a dozen FMJs this last Friday. I shot them side by side the Maxima Reds and the difference for me was pretty big. At 80 yards I was grouping about the size of a pie plate with the Maxima Reds and the Easton FMJs were about the size of a softball. Roughly half the group size. It isn't a scientific comparison by any means, but for me and my rig the Easton's seem to be the way to go.

Smitty,
Go to top of Utah in Logan. Try a few bows. Ask Lance to try a Bowtec Carbon Icon. Myself and two brothers have one. We all like them a lot.

Yeah, most of them. I don't hide things from her. Just recently picked up a little .22 revolver that came with 1000 rds of ammo for $150. Then I grabbed a 1911 for a screaming deal. Told her bout both. She understands that buying guns isn't money wasted.

I buy what I want. She buys what she wants. Within reason.

She's a jacket girl. Has lots of jackets.

May wanna check out New Breed for bows. I love my Genetics. There uprising and reasonably priced.

Gold tip hunter xt arrows are my favorite and pretty durable And also fairly reasonably priced

Softball size groups at 80 yds? Are you going be shooting at the next Olympics?
