Most Powerful Bow?

PSE Full Throttle. Supposedly shoots 370 fps. I've never shot one, but I can imagine it probably would about dislocate your shoulder if you let down. I read an article on super-fast bows a while back, and the author basically said the super-fast bows make you feel like they are going to rip your arm off and impale the bloody stump into your target downrange. I'd way rather sacrifice a little speed for a bow that has a smooth draw, a good valley, a solid back wall, and is quiet. Staying drawn on a critter is hard enough sometimes without your bow trying to wrench your arm around.

Hard to say when every company claims they have the fastest bow on the market. And im curious how they record their numbers like with the worlds lightest arrow or what
When I upgraded to a new bow it claimed to shoot over 330fps.

I shoot a light carbon for archery shoots and a benman 340 with a 125 grain tips for hunting. Depending on your draw weight/draw length/arrow/rest and every other factor I was right around 295-297 FPS and I shoot 70lbs at a 30 inch draw length.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-23-15 AT 08:59AM (MST)[p]There are accepted standards for rating bow speeds.

AMO, Archery Manufacturing Organization, measures the speed at 60lb. pull, 540 grain arrow and 30 inch draw length.

IBO, International Bowhunters Association, measures the speed at 70lb. pull, 350 grain arrow and 30 inch draw length.

Archery manufacturers should be using one of these standards to rate the speed of their bows.

I don't know which one is the fastest but if you do a little research on the major manufacturers you could probably get an idea. Just understand that you may be comparing AMO speeds with IBO speeds which aren't measured the same.

I shot a Mathews Monster for a couple of years, crazy fast bow, the first 3 pins were actually just the first pin, but it would have been easier to just shoot an arrow into the ground than let that thing down from full draw!
