So my primary bow is my Hoyt Charger, everything is great. However I like the idea of having a spare bow on hand just in case. I bought this 1996 Hoyt Rebel XT that very year it came out as my first bow. Only issue is back then not many people were using releases. So the bow is at a 31" draw for shooting fingers versus my 29" draw with a release. So we tried a few things including using a shorter string. The draw length is still on the long side. Its kind of weird cause of how mushy the back wall is, which makes consistency rely on using the right anchor point every time. The shorter string took my poundage down to 66 pounds instead of 70. I do acknowledge that this bow does not have the range or penetration of my Charger, but its just to keep me hunting. It shoots great out to 50 yards, though I think 40 will be my max range just because of the difference is speed. So is there any ideas or possible way to shorten the draw length just maybe another 1/2" or so? Also, is there anyway to take the mush out of the back wall or is that just the difference with bows from now and yesterday?
