When to nock an arrow

WHEN EVER I FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING SO, RATHER BE READY THAN SLOW & SORRY. AT TIMES I WILL WALK MANY STEPS WITH THE ARROW NOCKED.........................YD.

It just depends, but probably once I'm within range. Of course if the terrain is such that moving with an arrow nicked is difficult, then I'll wait.
Honestly though, I don't get close all too often.

Depends...

(1) stalking a specific buck i got 'eyes on' or location known, i keep it quivered until ready or in range (easier to move and less chance of catching a branch or other noise);

(2) still-hunting in the thick stuff, keep one nocked.

I pretty much keep one nocked walking around or still hunting unless i am in a place i could fall.....nocking an arrow once i see the animal is just one more sets of movement that can get me busted.....if i am done hunting and just covering ground to get back to camp. Then all my arrows are quivered...thats how i do it...
