Easton FMJ

Hey guys I have a question about some Easton FMJ 5.5 mm pre-fletched arrows I just purchased. I installed the HIT inserts and when I screw in my G5 Montec broad heads they don't seem to thread in all the way and their is also a 1/4 gap between the bottom of the broadhead and the arrow. I ordered a set of BAR, will this remedy my problem or am I using the wrong broadhead? I'm extremely lost on this situation since I'm relatively new to archery. Any information on this subject would be greatly appreciated fellas! Thank you very much.

1/4" is a lot, the adpators will take up about a 1/16 or so. I don't have any g5's to see how they fit in mine or I would check for you but maybe someone will come along that can....hopefully

Well I really appreciate the responses guys. Ya the adapter rings should be delivered tomorrow so I guess we'll see if they work out. Do you mind if I ask what broadhead your using on your FMJ's 3blade?

I'm assuming you used the tool, and the epoxy that came with the shafts. After the insert is installed it takes a while for the epoxy to set, so you should leave the shafts horizontal for 24 hours or the inserts could slide down the shaft some before the epoxy drys.

I didn't think about that at all. I can thread one broadhead all the way in out of the six arrows. So I was wondering if I got some of the epoxy inside the insert on to the threads. Gonna try and run a tap down them to see if I can remove the excess epoxy tomorrow. I appreciate you guys responding!

My archery shop threats a field point into the insert then a dab of the glue....its real easy for the insert to pull forward a bit when pulling it out....also...helps keep the threads clean...

I have quite a few different heads but mostly use magnus stingers, grizzlies, cutthroats and ABS samurai's.

Yeah I have been using the FMJ arrows for three years now and every time I get new arrows I have to use a tap to clean the threads. Because of the way the inserts are set it allows glue to get up in the threads and won't let you thread your field tips or broadheads in. I believe an 8x32 tap is all you need to clean those out. Run it in and out and you are set to go. I had the same issue last night.
