If anyone is good at running numbers for arrow spine can you help me figure out my arrow weight?

The bow I borrowed this year was set at 50 lbs for the season (killed an elk with it). I can pull 60 lb as of now and goal it be at 70 by next fall. I just got a Quest AMP and it will be setup to a 31? draw.

My arrows will most likely be 32? maybe 31.5 or 31" (that is the length I used this year).

Components:

Quest AMP (340 FPS)
31? draw
4mm FMJ Injexion
HIT insert 75-50 (break off) or regular HIT inserts (Not sure which I should go with???)
100gr Deep Six Broadhead (probably grimreapers)
Broad head Collar
FOBS

If I am planning to start shooting at 60 LB and work my way up through the winter to 70 LB should I go with 280 or 330 spines? And should I go with the extra weight with the brass inserts at either 75 or 50gn over the standards to keep my FOC good.

I am not very knowledgeable on selecting arrow spine and I know if I add weight with the insert the spine will be weakened, correct? This setup will before Elk/Mule deer and I want to stick with 4mm FMJs.

Thanks for any input

At 60lbs. I shoot FMJ 340's..100gr. G-Strikers...11.1gr.per inch...Blazers...271/2 in arrows 466gr. Tota. Arrow weight. Without getting the exact weight your arrows would be just over 500gr....I like a heavy arrow rather that a lighter arrow more energy at impact.....IMO....pass through's on elk at 40+yds...
I have read that it is better to be over spined than under spined.....If your going to work your up to 70lbs you will need to exventually get into a 340 spine arrow.....IMO save some bucks purchasing several spine arrow and just go to 340 FMJ mine fly great out past 70yds..

Good Luck

I used the regular HIT inserts...and it is worth it find a good archery only shop to deal with instead of the big box stores if possible....especially to have the inserts installed. Easy to screw up the insert install, glue on the threads, sometimes the insert tool hangs up on the insert and pulls it out a bit making for incorrect depth bummer after dried glue.....A professional method my archery shop does to make sure insert is seated correctly...they DO NOT use the provided insert tool. My shop screws a field point on to the insert. Then applies the glue to the insert....pushes the insert to a piece of wood until seated...perfect every time....including clean threads just take out field points sfter the glue is dry...good hunts ahead...

With a 31.5 to 32" arrow the spine chart is that I will be better off with 280 at 70 and 330 would be okay for 60.

My options are 280 or 330 for the 4mm.

I planning to buy them in the spring so I will shoot my crappy arrows for now from last year and see what poundage I get too.

Just got 280s left them full length at 32.5 which makes sure I cannot accidently hook the broadheads with my finger (I like it out front of my finger). Old bad habit of having finger up that I believe that I fixed but a broadhead to a finger would hurt/ruin a hunt it my finger.

Seated hit insert myself and was pretty easy. Tips on and everything looks good

Arrow weight comes out at 535 grains with 100 gr bh and fobs. At 64 lb now so got 9 months to get 6 more pounds.
