my buddy was 50 yards from this bull with no shot in the morning and we got surrounded by guides and glassers that evening as we were setting up to give him a go again during bow season.

one of the most painful feelings I've ever had to hear the report of gun shots and watch him fall over right in front of us.

as a first hand casualty of the wealth tag system, I can say it's a tough pill to swallow.

here's hoping when you find your once in a lifetime mack daddy to either film or hunt the money grubbers aren't on his tail

Was it bow season? Or rifle season? As in was the gun shot legal? Tough break for your bud either way.

It was bow season. There are two Heritage tags that go for auction and two Silver State tags that get drawn by the public that can hunt any weapon anywhere until the end of the year. Like our Governor's and Sportsmen's tags here in Utah.

The guy got the call they had found him the night before and he drove up all night from AZ to find us on him in the morning. He had passed this bull up in the velvet and was whining about it not having dark horns that evening! That would have really been a painful pill to swallow if my buddy had got him that morning right in front of them

It's the rules and we all should know it going in when you apply for these types of premium tags. Still not fun to have happen to you

That would be heartbreaking. It could take years to finally get that pill to go down.

Guides dont sneak in front of people and shoot animals out in front of other hunters. They are the most sportmanlike people out there. LOL!!!

On a serious note, that totally sucks. That was a great bull too. More than great! I could only dream of hunting bulls like that. However, I do have 6 elk points in Nevada and my buddy has 14. So maybe 1 day we will be out there hunting elk. One day, if I live long enough.
