Cross Bow Questions

For those of you that shoot cross bows, what features are you glad you have? Or wish you had? With a bunch of Cabelas bucks burning a hole in my pocket, I'm considering one.

I've never shot one, but have several friends with them, so I can take a few test shots.

Any particular CB you'd recommend? Or not recommend?

Looks like going prices are $300-$3000. Don't want to skimp and not get what I want or need, but also don't want to pay a lot for something I don't need. Budget wise, I'd like to keep it under $1000.

I'd go with the 10 point crossbow brand with the accu draw. I've owned a few cheaper brands and have had parts break. Going on 4 years with my 10 points and never had an issue.

I am new to these too, having lived most of my life in a state where they were illegal for about everything. Just getting my feet wet, but I am hearing negatives about the less-expensive Barnetts, better things about PSE and very good things about the 10-Points and easy-to-maintain reflex Excaliburs.

I shot my father-in-laws rarely shot Parker Enforcer over Thanksgiving. After that, he said "I gave up bow hunting 3 years ago. Merry Christmas. You're a pretty good guy." The only thing I could do was stutter and say "Thanks!"

Needless to say, I quit looking for a crossbow.

Before TG, I had studied several online, read reviews, and watched several YouTube videos. There are good ones to be had for $500 plus or minus.
