Archery release question

I have been shooting this cheap old release for 10 years now. I like the design of how the jaws open never had a issue just looking to upgrade and possibly get smoother trigger. I have never used any other release. Not a fan of the side jaw release judging off the looks of the design. I would like another wrist strap release preferably a buckle strap instead of Velcro. Any recommendations on a archery release to look at?

I've always shot with a hand held thumb release like a carter just cuz or insatiable. I dropped one and broke the sear and need to send it back in for repair. The other fell out of my pocket in Montana this year in a hell hole and I couldn't find it.

Forgot my spare carter quickie wrist release in my trailer up there, so I picked up a Hotshot Impetus at sportsmans. It shoots as good as any of my releases and at $79 is what I would call the best buy on the market right now.

I'm a big fan of the hook style and after having used one or another like that for 20 years, I would never shoot a caliper ever again.

Lots of options, but that's a very cost effective one that I don't think you can out perform at any price.

Cheers,
Pete

I thought about going to a handheld release but I have a hunt in January , I don't think I have time to switch over and won't feel comfortable about it .

Scott archery releases are the smoothest triggers in my opinion. Spring loaded, light to the touch. Have had the mongoose, little goose and silverhorn and love all of them.

I shoot a Fletcher 3-D.
It has a large release trigger and that makes it easier for me to use with heavy gloves on.
I believe it is offered with a Velcro or a buckle strap.
Mine is Velcro.
