Dalton Hwy bow caribou hunt

Has anyone ever done a bow hunt off the Haul Road? There sure is plenty of country but I'm wondering how the logistics would be worked out. We'd fly in and rent a truck but it would then be pretty tough to bring camping gear on the plane. Or would it? Are there campgrounds along the road? Are there any motels along the way where you could day hunt out of? Anyone done this?

There are little or no facilities between Coldfoot and Deadhorse (Prudhoe Bay). You need everything for camping as there are no motels except in Deadhorse. Our camp was approximately 80 miles from Deadhorse.

We went the second week of August and got snowed on. We saw caribou, moose, grizzly & black bears, and muskox. It took us 17 hours to drive straight through from Anchorage.
