Hello,
I read in the mosquuito post about using citric acid to keep bugs (flys) off meat during skinning etc. I read the link to Pristine Ventures someone posted (alot of good information). In that link they said to mix 1 oz citric acid to one qt. water. Somewhere else I read that it should be mixed 1 oz to one gallon of water. My questions are:
Has anyone here used it, and what mixture did you use?
Did it really help?
Did you use it on your cape also?
Did it add any type of flavor to the meat?
With the heat in California would this help keep the meat bees off?
Thank you for your time and any information you can supply.

Bill

Hi, just today I mixed citric acid to treat my game bags. I mixed 1oz. to 1 gallon of warm water. I cant comment on how effective it is as this is my first time using it.
I did blast a couple of flies that came to close, it did seem to irritate them. I got my citric acid at the grocery store in the health food department in bulk. In september
I have a 14 day float hunt for moose in alaska. I'll give a report when I get back.
Hopefully someone else has some first hand experience. Good luck, UB

a bottle of real lemon, concentrate,
its great have bbeen using it for 29 years.
all my game animals get washed down with it.
cuts the acids from cleaning and keeps the bugs and flys away.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner.
straight out of the bottle.
i rap up a rag, soaking wet,
then wipe down the meat.
when finished i wse old bed sheets and rap it around the meat.
pour the rest of the real lemmon over the sheet and pat it down
you'll suck out all the accids from th emeat adn leave your self with the best stakes, roasts, or burger youv'e ever had.
