Were would you go who would you guys recommend for this fly in hunt? We have been looking for a couple years, not looking for a book bull just a nice respcetable bull for a great mount...

I have a couple of other options also. There are ways to do it even cheaper than using the air guide guys...

i called papa bear they told me they were booked uo, we are going to kotzebue and flying out......

Fullcry, care to share what the cheaper options are? Me and two or three buddies from work are talking about going up and doing this. Probably next year. Thanks for your help, and PM me if you'd like to. Scott

everyone should be alerted that the mulchanta caribou herd has all but crashed, heard numbers are guessed near 40,000 compared to 300,000 it was a few years back. many operators and guides who are somewhat ethical are no longer taking clients out to this herd, you may see some new regulations regarding non residnet caribou harvest in this unit in the next year or so.
Right now kotzebue is the hot spot, the herd is at about 500,000 strong. just a heads up...

I think that Alaska Bush Sports offers a very good service, but in reference to the above post and the crash of the Mulchatna herd, I wonder what he's doing for his caribou hunters, because I believe that he hunts the Mulchatna herd. Scott

Brwnbr is right on. The Mulchatna herd is way down. Locals that I know said their winter hunting was non exsistent this year. Just no animals. The herd up north is doing great and it is like the good old days of the Mulchatna herd. From what I have heard you can't wrong by going further north.
