TOK SHEEP TAG

I am new to this forum-BTW-great forum. I drew a TOK sheep tag this year and will be using Freelance Outdoors as an outfitter. Anybody have the 411 on the hunt or the outfitter and area? I have met Lance and he seems to be super sharp-plus quite a few photos and write-ups in HF and other mags. Just looking for general info (really because I am so excited I just can't get this off my mind). In my mind, I am hunting already.

From what I understand, guides can only register so many areas in Alaska. This might be outdated info but I heard that the Tok is divided into several use areas and the only guide that has access to all of them is Matt Snyder. He lives out in the area and grew up there. Not a big self-promoting type, he just produces. I heard that Lance only has part of the Tok he can hunt. Don't take this as gospel but do check it out. I do believe that Matt also does his own flying and Lance either works with someone or subs it out. This would be important to me.

Nothing against Lance as he has done quite well for himself. He works hard and does well through hard work and tenacity. Before you sign with either, get ALL the info. Its a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I would love to have that tag.

I think the Tok produces the best looking rams out of Alaska on the most consistant basis. The Chugach rams grow bigger rams but there aren't too many 170 plus coming out of there anymore besides the auction tags and the top end subunit.
