I have a moose and griz hunt planned for this September in alaska. I shoot a 300RUM and have been using 180 gr Scirrocos. I am thinking of moving to a 200 gr accubond for this hunt. What are peoples opinions of this load for moose and griz? I used 180 gr Scirrocos on a moose in Wyoming a couple of years ago, one shot kill no problems, but have been thinking a little extra bullet weight wouldn't hurt for a bigger moose and griz. I do not reload and the heaviest bullet I can find in a factory load is a 200 gr, either the accubond or partition. Any input either way?

BY ALL MEANS SHOOT THE 200 GR. BULLET FOR THE BEAR, SHOT PLACEMENT REALLY COUNTS.....AND A NOSLER PARTITION WOULD BE MY CHOICE.....OR A SOLID NON TOX. COPPER PILL........YD.

I hit my Grizzly with a 150 grain nosler partition out of my .280 and his face hit the ground where he stood. Big fan of the partitions. Hit him center of the chest as he was facing me and found my bullet in his pelvis in a perfect mushroom. Dead on impact. Love the accubonds too. I shoot the 200 grain accubonds out of my .300 RUM as well but the gun is brand new so I've have yet to hit an animal with it but I'm sure it will be great for what you are doing.

I shoot a 210 grain N Partition out of my 338. I've always been a fan of the bigger stuff. If I were you I would shoot the 200 N Partition. Good luck either way, it should be a blast!!

I use a 500gr Sledge Hammer in a .458wm. Can't go wrong with a round that will stop a moving truck!:7

Thanks for all the input. I got the partitions in the mail the other day. Headed to the range this morning to site in for the heavier bullet. 200 gr. accubonds are too hard to come by these days.

Paul, maybe if I JB weld two bullets on top of each other I can get close to what you are shooting. LOL More gun than I will have a need for.

I would shoot the 200 grain Swift A frame loaded by Remington. It is a much tougher bullet than the other two you mentioned.

I have not shot a Grizzly but have been fortunate to shoot several moose and all of them were harvested with 180gr Accubond. Zero problems or issues. A couple of Black Bears have been harvested with the Accubond as well and zero problems as well. Good luck.
