? About Alaskan Moose Hunts

LAST EDITED ON May-19-10 AT 04:09PM (MST)[p]I am just trying to gather some iformation for a family member who is interested in Moose or Moose/Bear combo hunt in Alaska or Canada. I was just wondering if anyone had any recomedations or info on outfitters. Any info would be appreciated.

Give High Adventure Air in Soldotna Alaska a call, They are the most honest outfit that I have ever been with. I started going with them in 1990 and have been going ever since. I second AKHUNTINFOOL, had a moose hunt with them in '08 another in '11 and looking to do a fishing trip with them also.

I am headed this September on a moose/griz combo with Mike Litzen. I will let you know how it goes. So far Mike has been great to work with and very good at communications. References I talked with spoke very highly and he has many repeat customers.

In 2008 we went on a drop camp moose hunt with him. We went 2 for 2, a 54" & 43". We are moving our dates back a little this time to try and time the rut a little better. Our 1st day of hunting last time was the 8th or 9th, this time it will be the 14th. Our time is taking forever to get here!!!!!!! we planned this 2nd hunt in January of '09, too long of a wait for me

On the moose hunt our group of 4 shot 54", 57", my 63", and a 66 incher. On another hunt I shot a couple of black bears. Another time I got a wolverine, and my brother shot a caribou.

I did a fly out fishing day with High Adventure once, nice group of people. I've hunted with Sportsman?s Air ? top rate and well networked, went 2 (66) for 2 (56) on Moose self guided.

Call a few a pick a good area with lots of Moose.
