Just wondering if the lady with the muzzleloader had anyone on film crew as armed backup..if not she is one hell of a huntress!,,Dang! Hth

Here is a better question how did the young lady get the 1500 lb. bear out of the creek by herself. skin it, carry the hide which has to weigh a considerable amount to the LZ.
I call B&LL SH:T. Another thing, if around every corner there is a bear ready to eat you why do the hunts last for 14 to 21 days.

And before anyone jumps me I realize the weather is a great factor but I hate the way the TV shows make it sound worst then it is to boost rating.
Sorry in a foul mood tonight.
Thanks for always letting me vent your friend Joe.

I love Alaska so I'll watch just about anything out there that has to do with it. I really appreciate the production quality of this series.
I've been to Kodiak to photograph bears on 3 separate occasions with one of the most reputable guides in the business. I have been uncomfortably close to mature bears more times than I care to count.
Watching this show you'd think you could just walk around and wait to hear a bear growl and go after him. I've NEVER heard a bear growl in the wild. I've only ever had one bear act aggressive around us and that's because he couldn't tell what we were due to his eyesight and the wind direction. On that note, the BIG males leave the country as soon as they can see or smell us. Sows and cubs actually hang out around us more because big boars won't.
I think its a shame that they sensationalize something as awesome as the Kodiak experience but I understand that they have ratings to consider. I'd still watch the show even if they played rap music in the background just to see the country (but I'd do it with the volume muted...).
just my 2 cents...
