PRINCE OF WALES ISLAND? CRAIG AK?

No, but I wish I could say I was! I love Alaska, especially SE
My favorite trip was on Sitkoh lake and Sitkoh creek. We spent a week in the forest service cabin there, fishing for cutthroat, rainbow, and steelhead. Sitkoh creek is on Chichagof Island.

Would love to come back and hunt sitka blacktails.

I worked up there in a logging camp for two summers back in the eighties and I've always have wanted to go back to hunt black bear. I was there from late May through early September and I had two days off during the entire time. We flew into Ketchekan and then from there took a float plane to Klowock. The logging camp was located just out of Klowock which isn't far from Craig. I do remember there being a ton of black bears and lots of muskeg. We took some monster spruce off of that island.

Fished off of Point Addington and would go to town CRAIG to get fuel, ice, sell fish, etc. every week or so, during the summers in the late 70's and early 80's. Used to eat at the resturant, RuthAnns, whenever we came to town. Never really got around the town or Island much ,just what you could easily walk to from the boat harbor. I wonder if it has changed much since I was there?

Stayed on the Columbia Heli barge on the Ketchikan side for a summer. Went fishing every afternon caught some nice halibut. No shortage for bears thats for sure.

We are not from Craig but we guide on the smooth side of the island. We are out of Thorne Bay. If you have any questions you can see us at www.thornebaylodge.com Good luck and talk to you soon. jon
