Hello,

My wife and I are planning a trip to Alaska in August. We are planning on fishing for Salmon and Halibut and are looking for referals for a good lodge/guide service. We are hoping to fish for 3 days and then seeing some of the sights in Alaska for another 3 or 4 days.

Anyone have any advice or lodges they could refer?

Thanks in advance!

Northern Knights Lodge in King Salmon, AK is a first class outfit. I went up there last year with my family and we had the time of our lives. They offer some great fishing and sight-seeing packages and will cater to your every need. Here is their website - check them out!

I can maybe help you with some suggestions, but I would like to know if you have any "specific sights" that you want to see.

You can fish for salmon and halibut from hundreds of lodges, from Southeast Alaska to the Aluetian Islands. So the first question is---what else did you want to do or see.

If you are wanting to go to S.E. Alaska you should check out http://www.islandviewcharters.com, they are located in Sitka. I have fished with them several times and would reccomend them to anyone. In August you would be catching mainly Silvers and Halibut, with a few Kings possible. Have a nice trip.

Thanks for all the helpful information you guys.

I will be booking something in the near term and taking your advice.

Will post pics from the trip when we return.

Sorry for the late resonse. I have been away for a while. Well, after viewing all my options, considering all of the friendly advice, talking with people who have been there, etc., we decided to rent an RV when we get there and meander over as much as we can for the 2 weeks that we are there.

We decided this will allow us to fish a few days, see some glaciers, and many of the other beautiful sights that I hear Alaska has to offer.

Thanks again for all the advice guys.
