I am looking for a new tent. I am torn between the Kodiak Canvas 10x10, or the Cabelas Alaskan Guide series with the Aluminum poles. Both will run me about the same price.

I was wondering if any one has experience with both tents. I will be using the tent for about 3 8-10 day hunts/camping trips each year, plus a few 3-4 day trips each year as well. I will be hunting lions in January, to turkeys in May to elk in September, and need a tent that can stand up to everything. I almost always will be setting up the tent by myself, so that is a consideration. I will not be packing the tent in anywhere, but will be setting up camp out of my truck.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Marcial

I love my Kodiak canvas! Easy up and down, does not leak, no condensation, lots of venting options. Other than my back packing tents canvas is the only way IMHO.

I have the Alaskan Guide. It's one hell of a good tent. Had it in some really bad weather and it has never once let me down. I heat it with the Big Buddy from mr heater and it stays very comfortable even in freezing conditions. The extra storage the rainfly provides is great. Mine is the 8-man and you can pack a ton of gear and coolers in that storage area.

Wall tents are great but this was a better option for me.
