f you're looking for a good overall sock that won't break the bank, Costco has their Kirkland branded merino wool socks, 4 pair for $13. I've been using them for a year or so and they've been great. Pair them with a good liner sock and you're in business. I have way too many socks and these guys seem just as good as the expensive ones.

Yep they are a great deal for the money.

If there is any proof of a man in a hunt it is not whether he killed a deer or elk but how he hunted it.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-24-11 AT 08:16AM (MST)[p]Yep,best deal on socks hands down.I'm also a sock snob and have many different brands of merino wool ones. They are almost identical to Cabella's and cost 1/2 and fit better.I wear them year round and they never leave me with sweaty feet.

I've got lots of good deals on clothes at Costco. Always worth checking out.

Sweet! Headed to Costco tomorrow to get a couple packs as my feet SWEAT!!! I have never worn anything but cotton socks and it's time for a switch in a BIG way! What's a good liner sock to couple with these? Thanks!

If they're a good quality merino wool, you won't need a liner. If you have never worn anything but cotton you are in for a treat. There is nothing like quality thick socks. I wear them winter and summer for comfort and wicking, and of course warmth. The most comfortable I have ever worn were made of angora.

I found some good winter shirts and a jacket at Costco the other week. Not sure what their stock strategy is but they are out there in some stores.

For those of you sock guys, I am looking to completely switch from cotton to merino or similar and was wondering what "bootie" socks you guys might reccomend that aren't too spendy? Maybe looking for something similarly priced to the kirkland socks in this post... I wear alot of shorts in the summer and don't wear calf high socks with shorts much... Thanks!
