Has anyone used the J51 Warhammer pack? Any comments? Going to WY for elk next year.
Thanks

I have not used, nor could I find one to see.

FWIW. A 2500cu in pack should NOT weigh 9 pounds! For that size (day pack) check out the X2. For more hauling, the Blue Widow.

Personally, I have the X2, I like the smaller size for getting around, yet it holds all you need. Then it can make the initial load out. once first load is out, I go back with a dedicated freight hauler. Last years elk was done in two trips.

Hope this helps-

Thanks,
I was wondering if anyone was going to respond. I have the J104 and it's heavy also. I'll give the X2 a look.

I agree with Outdoorsdude, the Warhammer is probably not the right pack for your need. The X2 is a good one and a lot of guys like it.

Are you archery hunting or rifle or both. Feel free to call me if you want to go over all your options.

I was playing with both the Blue Widow and the Warhammer packs side by side today. Although I didn't have a scale, the Warhammer is a couple pounds lighter than the Blue Widow. I own and use the Dragonfly so I am pretty familiar with Eberlestock packs. I can say that it is well built, but not many pockets. I am always looking for packs, and have yet to find one I like as much as the Blue Widow. It is nice to go from 2000c.i to 4500c.i. when you need to. I have hunted for 1-6 days out of the Dragonfly (Blue Widow with a gun sleeve) and every year it works great. It is a couple lbs heavier than I like, but unlike the badlands packs, it has never let me down.
I am really trying to like the Warhammer but it is a funky set up. Not sure I will get there...
