Anyone else have problems finding camo that fits taller people? I am only 6'4" and find it difficult. Any ideas? What I have works, but would rather have something that fits!

+1

At 6'4' as well, to get sleeves long enough, you end up wearing a tent around your middle. I hate how manufacturers equate big as fat!

Kings makes some tall sizes, only camo pants I own that don't show my socks. I just don't like their cut in the waist.

LAST EDITED ON Feb-22-12 AT 12:50PM (MST)[p]At 6'6" I have the same problem.
Also finding something on a clearance rack that works is next to impossible. I can deal with short pants, but short sleeves and short torsos drive me crazy.

I'm a dwarf at 6'2 and even I feel as though I am limited.
And dont even mention looking for size 14 in a good boot.

All too familiar. Apparently, we are as wide as we are tall. I have sitka pants in 36 tall, which area great. All of their shirts are more like the half shirts made in the 80's...remember those? I am thinking about selling off the sitka stuff and starting over, but not sure where to look. I will look into kings. If they fit a 6'7" dude, they should fit me. I contacted sitka regarding taller tops and they agreed. The design department is being notified. Who knows if anything will come of it.

Cabelas has some stuff in Tall but its not that much longer [shirts;I think 2" longer in body and 1 1/2" in sleeves]and if its cotton forget it.

You might be able to get Day One to work or have them make you something longer though much of their stuff is light polar fleece and the pants pick up burrs like crazy. I have a pair of their pants that came unhemmed and they were about 37"-38"- but that was awhile ago.

I've had good luck with the mountaineering shops for size 14 boots.

I mostly wear mtn gear that fits with a tall leafy top cover. I think if your pants are a neutral color its no big deal.

At 6'2 I have problems finding stuff myself. I feel bad for guys taller than me. I have had good luck with the Russell APX gear. The shirts and jackets fit well and I have long arms. The pants fit well standing and walking, but hike up when sitting, climbing, stalking. OverAll I will keep buying Russell gear until something better comes along. Hopefully the main camo manufactures will see this thread and start making clothing for taller people.

At 6'6" I have the same problem. I have some Russell's APX gear, which is decent. Lately, I have been loading up on Core4 Element gear in tall sizes. If you watch www.camofire.com you will find some great deals.

I'm 6'4", and I've given up on camo. Don't think it matters to animals what you are wearing, I've had way too many encounters at close range with zero camo on to believe otherwise.

I wear green carhart pants, cause they are comfortable, quiet, dry fast, and don't collect burrs. I have several camo shirts, and coats. I wear whatevers quiet.

I do have several camo outfits, Kings, Cabelas Microtech, Sitka, Etc.....I prefer the Cabelas if I'm going to wear camo. Outfitter is the pattern I like.

Camo is rediculously expensive. I should kick my own a$$ for paying what I have for the camo I've got. Stupid!

LAST EDITED ON May-17-12 AT 05:33PM (MST)[p]I will check out both sites. Thanks for the info. Kicking your own a$$. That's funny!

Does anyone have picture of the graywolf clothing being worn? Seems like the right stuff for tall guys but it had better be ther last piece of gear I buy for that price. ANyone have a review or two?

At 6'3 i gave up on looking for camo clothes, cant find a long-tall shirts. so for pants i rock brown or green carhart pants. all i got to do is break up my pattern. i have never had a problem being busted unless i mess up by making movement.

I like Carhardt but its cotton and I wouldn't wear it on a mtn hunt.

I backpacked 7 miles into my buddies horse camp started at about 8,000 ended at 10,600'] in the Weiminuche wilderness and it rained the whole way in turning to snow at the end. No way jeans are going to work for you on that. Heck rain pants would have been steaming and uncomfortable.

My [older] tall Mistral pant from REI with the Schoeller [Dynamic, I think] fabric shed water and stayed light and breathable- my favorite hunt pant.

Im 6'6" and the core4element gear on camofire seems to fit me pretty well. The other option i have used in the past is taking my pants in to the alterations shop and having 3-4" added onto the bottoms. Doesnt look great all the time but some of them look pretty good.... like built in gaiters.

Another 6'4", and know the feeling all too well. I have found some of the cabelas microtex in outfitter camo in a long length. I would guess they are 36-37" inseam? I have bought some of the predator brand in a size XL and than had them altered and taken in to fit my waste. other than that, it looks like im ready for a flood.
