How goes it,
After my credit card was hit with a charge from the Utah-DWR over 8 days ago, I've had a pretty decent idea of which tag I drew but have been anxiously waiting for the "official" notification from the Utah-DWR via email...well as of this morning it's now finally official, looks like I'll be chasing fuzzy muleys in the BOOK CLIFFS this coming August with my stick-flicker!!! So with that said, the area is pretty rough and a pretty good chunk of it is 'road-less' foot & horse access only and I'll be needing some new equipment to help me get the job done...one of those items is a new pack. I'm after something that will obviously carry all of the essentials along with my bow and hopefully a cape & head as well, I know there are a few options out there but I wanted to ask the gallery here in the forum...which pack do you use or would recommend for a guy like me, BADLANDS or TENZING and why???

I personally would go with the tenzing. I had a 4500 but sold it. It was a great pack, unfortunately it did not fit my short torso well. I checked out the Tensing pack at the shot show and I must say, I believe its design is much better. Adjustable and just plain laid out better. I believe he took the best ideas from several companies and made one pack. I personally would ppurchase one, however they do not make it in mossy oak sooooo, I am out of luck. Going with the J107.

I think Baldbeaver hits the main thought. Packs are like shoes. They are not a one size fits all and you definitely want one to fit. Ie, I'd try them on before putting out the dough. I used a Badlands Sacrifice last year and packed 120 lbs for about a mile and a half until I got a nasty tinge in my lower back (yes, foolish I know, but I didn't realized how much weight I'd put in with meat, cape, antlers etc...). The pack carried well with high and lower weights. That doesn't necessarily it is the best pack out there or the best one for you. I'm not familiar with the Tenzing.

Thanks to the two of you thus far for responding, your input and opinions are greatly appreciated...

I have the badlands 2200 its a real good pack. But I have had them put 3 zippers in it. That was ok until last time I took it in and they wanted to charge me $12 for them to ship it back to me. If I have to ship it both ways it will cost way to much to get it fixed. I will not buy another badlands pack now.
