looking to get some lightweight game bags. has anyone used the t.a.g. bags and/or the caribou gear bags? just looking for some input, reviews, pros/cons. thanks.

TAG Bags are all I use. They are strong, lightweight, and easy to clean. If you're meat doesn't get a good crust before you put it into the bags and they get bloody, you can wash them out, hang them up, and in an hour or so, they'll be dry. Its easy to carry all of the bags you need in your backpack/daypack so that you will have them when you need them.

I have both the Moose/Caribou bags and have been using them for the last 7-8 years.

Good luck,

+1 for the TAG bags. Excellent concept for keeping meat fresher longer by wicking moisture away. I've been using mine for a few years now. They clean up well and hold up well.

The TAG bags are the best choice for a light weight bag I'm aware of. They are very good but I have had mine dry out and tear when bloody though.

If the tags are the Cabela's alaskan bags i use them too, you can look at Kifaru as well. They have a nice set up that allows you to hange them upside down in a tree.

Hey GSJ, you ought to contact Pristine Ventures. I had the seams in like 4 of 6 of one of my sets of bags blow out. So I contacted them and they had me a new set sent out very quickly... GREAT CS IMO... And the bags work great, I have no need to try any other...

Been using old bed sheets sewn into bags they work great and the blood wash out easy, now if you are quatering them out, Pillow cases are pretty useful.
Contruction(HD) plastic trash bags work great for a "Backpack liner" inside of your backpack to keep it clean, But it can and will heat up the meat if it hasn't been cooled down already.
