Ok guys whats your favorite pants to wear hunting. Lets say bowhunting september. I keep ripping holes in everything and need to buy a new pair. Shoot I am tempted to just go back to regular blue jeans they at least hold up and don't cost a million dollars.

Suggestions

LAST EDITED ON Aug-22-12 AT 07:04PM (MST)[p]Dickies duck canvas or there dungarees. Walmart sells for $21.00
come in brown, green, tan, black, grey & denim just like carhartt, but less money.

Cabelas Microtek light for warm weather. Regular weight for cold weather. They will not stay wet or collect burrs, and last forever.

I've used Cabela's microtek a lot and I like them. I paint over the rivets with liquid rubber so they don't make noise when contacting my plastic rifle stock. I've also got a pair of Sitka Ascent Pants, they feel real nice and the stretch is great. They have come apart at the crotch and I've had to restitch them.

I just got a pair of Kuiu Attack pants but have not had time to use them. In the house they seem REAL nice and tougher than the Ascent pant.

I couldn't talk myself into $100 bucks for Kuiu Attack pants. I made a HUGE mistake and finally bought a pair.

Now I own four pairs. If you buy a pair, you will just keep buying them. Half of mine aren't even in camo, but I like the solid colors for hiking and checking trail cams.

Attack Pants are awesome. They fit better than naked.

Couldn't agree more Grizz, I am hooked on the Kuiu stuff as well. But don't buy one piece if you aren't financially prepared to become addicted.

My favorite pair are the Sitka ascent pants. I used them for four years. This year I am using the Sitka mountain pant. The knee pads took some getting used to, but I didn't notice them after my first scouting trip.

Yes, I am aware.

I actually want the knee pads in, it just takes some getting used to. I really only use the knee pads less than 10% of the time.

I've been wearing REI hiking pants for the last four hunting seasons. I wear the same pair probably 80 days a year both huntkng and fishing... the won't wear out!!!! They've out lasted 4 pair of OR Crocodile gaitors and two pair of Mendle boots! Best$35 I've spent in years, anc I'll be buying another pair soon... the ones i have are pretty ventilated from campfires.

sitka ascent pants are good but the Kuiu attack is the best pant i have. i've used North Face, REI, Mountain Hardware and Kuiu is my fav.

Just by way of an update, I have gone on two scouting trips and two hunts with the Sitka mountain pant. I have been on some real rough shale and in some nasty Russian olive tree river bottoms. The pants have held up great so far and the knee pads were a life saver when a buck pinned me down for 5+ minutes while I was kneeling in a ground blind.

If these pants hold up as well as my Ascent pants did, I'll be 100% satisfied.

What pants do you guys recomend for a Nov 2nd muley hunt in Wy. Packing in on horses and spot and stalk from camp. Heading into the Shoeshone area. Any recomendations would be appriciated.

I think you would be fine with a base layer ( I use first lite) and a pant that is wind resistant & sheds water.

You keep wind and moisture away & the temperature won't be an issue if you are moving around.

Arborwear has replaced my Carhartts. Kuiu and Sitka not necesssarily in that order) have replaced my REI hiking pants. The pants from Arcteryx LEAF are also great if you can get them.
