Pack stove recomendations

I am shopping for a new pack stove. Just something that can boil water for dehydrated meals. I am leaning heavily towards the Jetboil Flash. I would love to hear some reviews on this unit. How do they handle the cold and higher altitudes say between 8k and 10k?

I already have a Nova stove but I lost the fuel bottle and pump and I have not been able to find a replacement in the US.

Definitely get the jetboil. I have loved mine and never had a problem. I use mine mostly around 11-12000 feet so you shouldn't have any problem

I love my Jetboil as well, never any issues down to 15 degrees but I can't speak for colder. they say the fuel does not flow well below 20 degrees but i used the four season fuel at 15 degrees and no problem but the canister was near full. They even have a titanium one now that shaves off another 6 ounces of total weight and only $30 more than the Flash. Mine is one of the early models from 8+ years ago called the Java kit and it works awesome. I can't recall for sure but I can get over 15 meals out of a small canister and it might be closer to 20. There are lighter out there and possibly faster to boil but these are fuel misers. I just ordered the titanium SOL.

Save some money and buy the Optimus Crux. Everything fits inside the pot and lid. Burns fine at 10,000'. I used one last year and it surprised me how fast it would boil water. Plus you can cook with a pan on it if you would like. I have been happy with mine. It is packed to leave on a 7day trip on Saturday.

Well, fortunately I found the bottle and pump for my Nova stove, so I don't need to buy one anymore. I love my Nova stove. I'm very pleased to have it going again.

I like those little butane stoves. If is real cold you have to put the canister in your bag with you otherwise the fuel freezes.

I have an MSR WindPro that I really like. This year I got a good deal on an MSR MicroRocket. I have been happily surprised with how good it works, both at elevation and cold temps.

I love my Jetboil Sol. containers last a lot longer than I would have thought.

My favorite hunts are because they were with friends and family not just because "I got one".

I love my jet boil especially if you are mainly boiling water for coffee and dehydrated meals, the jetfoil boils water so much faster then my MSR XGR and you don't have to bring a cooking set with you

Just started using the MSR PocketRocket and absolutely love it. Boiled water for Mtn House's super quick in the wind at 10,000' with no problem.

This is what I have been using the last 2 seasons and it is not only flawless, but EXTREMELY LIGHT!! I fit this stove, 1 small canister of fuel, a lighter, and folding spork all inside a fairly small GSR(?) pot with lid. It is so convenient and the Stove itself is pretty small when folded up. Boils water fairly quick and doesn't burn through fuel either. Definitely a lot easier to pack that a Jetboil or the likes (not that they are bad stoves), but Backpacking is about weight and space...This is a perfect match to both conservations.

Jetboil Sol Ti has a regulator that helps keep fuel delivery stable at higher altitudes. It's also smaller and lighter than the Flash.

I have the pocket rocket and love it works good we Are at 10, 000 plus feet and have no problems
