Look at the GoalZero Guide 10 Plus kits. It's done by solar power but they also have a small battery pack that will recharge a phone that you can carry with which can also charge the phone/gps/etc at night if there is no sun. I am not huge into back country hunting but I think it would come in extremely handy in that type of hunting. You would need to willing to pack the extra weight and size of the unit, which really isn't all that much.

If you have an iPhone, take a look at mophie. They sell a battery pack/phone case that is rechargeable. The one I bought will fully recharge your phone when turned on. Seems to work well.

I highly recommend the Goal Zero guide 10+. Although I havent used mine a lot (only had it a year) it seems to be the solution for phone charging.If you use your phone as a gps with something like the Back Country navigator app you have to charge it frequently. The battery pack will charge AA and AAA batteries and then use them to charge your phone or run a headlamp, radio, etc. I plan to use mine more next year and hopefully it continues to impress me, but so far its the best thing I can find.

Try out the Solio chargers, they are small sized like a computer mouse and have 3 solar blades that fan out. I think they were called the classic, universal and magnesium edition. The have some different models also but I liked these small ones. You just leave it set up by your tent while out hiking or hunting and when you come back at the end of the day you just hook up your phone to it and charge up your battery again. I usually get 2-3 re-charges out of one Solio. Check out Ebay and sometimes you can get one for $40
