I want to buy a waterproof cold weather coat, so far nothing I've found is half as warm or waterproof as my snowmobile jacket. I'm about ready to just buy a plain jane black snowmobile jacket if I can't do better.

The lighter the better, that's why I ditched my wool. I'm thinking Sitka or something like that but the 90% and Kelvin aren't doing it.

I don't get cold easy but I want one coat I can be sure I'm not going to freeze in under poor conditions. any suggestions?

Stay thirsty my friends

1 -Down Outfitters Parka from Cabellas, very warm
2- Woolrich wool coat, very warm even when wet.
3-Kings Mountain Parka, great for most hunts above zero, but have had it colder, zip out liner.
4- Berber Fleece w/windshear from Cabellas,I have pants and coat, very warm in windy snowy conditions.
Snowmobile coats and ski gear tend to be very noisy.
The Kings Parka is waterproof and the liner adds a lot of warmth.Very quiet too.
If you go with Sitka or Kuiu you have to buy several layers to get what others have in one.

One thing that has always irritated me about Sitka gear and some others is their "DWR" finish. With all the high tech fabric out there, for that kind of money it should be water PROOF!
Best coat I have is a Team Realtree Parka I picked up on Camofire for less than $100 (Actually $69 I think) It is soft on outside, waterPROOF, and surprisingly warm. I picked it up for a spare and it has become my go-to coat!
